Interestingly, Ranveer would have followed both Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's iconic legacies associated with the franchise. Moreover, Farhan Akhtar was reportedly the only filmmaker who had signed on the film with the actor when others had backed out. Ranveer's recent film Dhurandhar has gained a positive momentum at the box office. Our reviewer gave the movie 3.5 stars. He wrote, "Dhurandhar remains an arresting film, bold in its scale, muscular in its action, textured in its craft, and powered by performances that elevate even its weaker stretches. It is imperfect, overlong, but never dull. And in Akshaye Khanna, it gives Hindi cinema one of its most memorable antagonists in recent years. The action hasn't ended even after 3.5 hours of runtime.
